AHORN CZ, manufacturer of statted bed frames, achieved an extensive research concerning of objective importance of measuring system in process of choosing of optimal combination of slatted bed frame and the mattress. This research also answered the questions of customers, namely if the quality of sleeping is depending on slatted bed frame, and how big difference could be in various combinations of bed frames and mattresses.
Manufacturers of beds offer the countless choosing of mattresess and bed frames in present, whereas each say that its product is the best. However non-proffesional customer can hardly find the right combination of bed frame and mattress and select the optimal bed. How the Mapping pad works?
Mapping pad is slim flexible pad with pressure sensors. Interested person can lay down at mapping pad and lie on the bed in various positions. Sensors in the mapping pad scan the pressure and these data are processed in computer. Than the shape and position of the body is displayed in different colors depending of pressure. Results of measuring shows the suitability of bed frame in combination with mattress. Data output is not only colored picture showing the press of the body but also numeric data concerning of press reaction between body and bed.

The results of measuring made by AHORN CZ is shown on the 315 representative persons as follows:

1. woman, weight 60 kg
2. man, weight 80 kg
3. man, weight 105 kg

The basic position of the body was on shoulders /without underlay of the head/, and than on side /bending knees, hand under the head/ at 7 varied types of bed frames in combination with 15 kinds of mattresses. Thanks to measuring is clear that slatted bed frame lessen the weighting between body and the bed and raise the standard of sleeping. The right choosen bed is lightly flexuous and minimalize the press between body and pad. Higher pressure is reason why the man change the position of laying more often and reduce the quality of sleep. Quality of bed is impacted by kind of mattress too, but it doesn`t mean that the higher price ensure better comfort. For each man is suitable different kind of mattress depending on age, sex, tallness and weight, shape of the body and state of health. For example – man in middle age, weight of 90 kg, chose the most expensive mattress and slatted bed frame. Measuring shown that the press in part of pelvis is very strong because this mattress is too soft for the customer. On the basis of measuring was recommended other, tougher mattress which reduced the pressure of the body.
